Who is Helen Thomas?

The national media is buzzing over the vocal boo boo and subsequent "retirement" of super-annuated psuedo-journalist Helen Thomas. Despite the fact that she was a constant irritation to generations of White House press secretaries, this fossil was virtually unkown outside of the media circus that inhabits the Beltway. She was probably better known as being the occasional foil of an Ann Coulter attack rather than as a journalist herself. The idea that the verbal stupidity of an 89 year old Washington insider could have any meaning to 99% of the rest of the country shows how out of touch the fourth estate is with their customers.
